Day 3

Day 3 is a dae that i thought will be free from shopping.. Went sight seeing at various places.. Visited the lover's bridge and fisherman wharf with Mel before proceeding for a relaxing hot spring bath at beitou.. Also visited de re gu, which is a type of sulphur spring.. Bathing in a hotspring is a totalli new experience i must sae as i have never experienced it before.. soaked for a total of 2 hours and i called it quits..

di re gu

Mel is crappy as usual and he has been consistentli "showing off" his knowledge of songs in taiwan.. Here is a list of songs that he linked to things in taiwan:

At zhong xiao east road, he goes zhong xiao dong lu zou jiu bian....

At fisherman wharf, cos its near the sea, its time for ah mei's Ting hai

At the national Palace Museum where he saw a picture of Cao cao.. Guess wat song..

toilet sign.. v cute rite?
Yu Ren Ma Tou Square
lover's bridge.. y am i doing here without mi bf/gf..
Bei Tou Fish Market

Proceeded to Dan shui lao jie where i ate food like BBQ squid etc..

Fried Mushrooms
Nuo Mi Chang (Glutinous Rice Sausage)
BBQed Smelly Tofu
Grilled Squid
Tang Hu Lu (Glazed Strawberries and Cherry Tomatoes)

Shilin night market then and i was in for more surprises.. the food there is just average considering what we have eaten so far.. so the food is disappointing... Here's a list of the food we ate:

(1)Smelly toufu

(2) He ar jian oyster omelette

(3) Guan cai Ban

(4) mian bao chuan

(5) cong you bing

(6) ma la ya xue (duck blood)

(7) hua zi geng

(8) da chang bao xiao chang- dunno y but buy it twice never managed to finish it

(9) Bo Ba nai Cha

But what is interesting is not the food but the thing that i am about to see at one of the game stalls.. Guess the game??

Yes!!! its mj but a different version.. totally amazed by the game that i spent an hour playing at the stll.. we are supposed to draw 15 tiles and match the tiles to the picture. If a straight line is formed, its a "hu". Won a total of 10 packets of drinks and gt 5 times “hu”.. Spet a total on NT 400 on this interesting game.. Here’s the picture

After the game, we proceeded for some minor shopping and I came across a polo tee with jasmine green stripes.. Caught my eye and befoe I know it, it belongs to me le… Then I continued walking along the street and passed by a accessory shop.. Accessory time again and this time it is for a ring and a bracelet.. Another Nt$1300 poorer.. Hahaha..

After this, time is around 1130pm le and we rushed to catch the train back to the hotel.. As I travelled, I begin to fear hoe I am going to bring all these stuff to kaoshiung and then back to SG. Tink its time for more luggage and im prepared to bust the 30kg limit. Muahahahaha..

Day 2

Ring!!!! 830Am and that is the sign to wake up. Went for breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which served typical breakfast stuff like omelette, bee hoon, coffee, yakult, bao, siew mai etc… After breakfast, it was time to proceed for the activity for the day, which is mainly shopping at Ximending and wufenpu.. With the aid of my fren’s navigational skills, we managed to find the way to Ximending. Initially thought that Ximen station is Ximending.. But ho ho. It’s a different thing altogether..

Ximending is a “street” which is really like Bugis Street in Singapore. But definitely, the variety, quality and price is much better than in Singapore, as I dun fancy bugis street at all. The first shop, SOAR, is a local brand that is created by the owners. One step into the shop and im about $60 bucks poorer as I bought 2 tees and 1 long sleeve shirt.

Then I headed to Wufenpu. Nothing much there as it is like Chatchuchak market in Bangkok., very wholesale in nature, the more u buy the cheaper it becomes.. OMG. Bargaining skills put to the test..

After all the shopping and feeling broke as I have spent all the currency on shopping, we headed back to the hotel to offload the stuff and take currency.. Then we are off to the next stop.. Taipei 101, eslite bookshop and “Xing Guang San Yue” for more shopping… Managed to find a book from eslite which is no longer in SG and at Half the price… A bargain..Then I headed off to Taipei 101 to go to the observatory.. Tixs cost NT$350.. But it is really worth it as the sight is reallli amazing. Obervatory= no shopping?? Nopex.. So wat did I grab???

Taiwan produce like the Jelly with green plum, butter cookies, pineapple tarts (which has various flavors like blueberry, charcoal, sesame etc), almond cookie as well as taro puffs.. Busted a total of NT$1760!! Amazing rite but not all for me as I bought the butter cookies, which apparently is only sold at that Taipei 101 for some of mi friends.Armed with all these cookies, I am now having a big headache as to how I can transport all these stuff back to SG..

taiwan day 1

Landed in taipei at 3pm.. Feels totalli like singapore except that it is more laidback and the place is nt that fast paced.. Went to the shopping malls that are located at the taipei train station- the underground mall and the "xing guang san yue" department store.. That place is utterli boring.. totalli nothing to see and buy for guys but for ladies is a haven..

Then i decided to travel downwards to taipower building station where the SHi da night market is located.. This place rocks totalli for 2 reasons... Firstli, it is the place that i busted money on 2 cargo 3/4 and a accessory.. Totalli happi as i have nt gotten any new accessory for so many months , latest being the one that zr-san gave me.. then the food also rocks.. tried the mian xian and the "ge rou bao" which is known in SG as braised pork bun... Food here realli damn nice and i begin to fear the impact on my waistline when im back..

more shopping todae so keep returning for more updates. meanwhile the pictures for you to enjoy..
