Voila and its Thursday

How time flies and now im on my second last day of training.. This calls for a major bash cum celebration as it indicates the formal commencement of life as an auditor..

To be honest, this 2 weeks have been fun and i have enjoyed myself at training but at times i realli felt that it was repetitive.. But im glad that it will be over and look forward to my first job next week... Hopefulli, this time round, i will be able to change my perception of audit and begin to enjoy life as an auditor...

Next big thing is with regards to one of my jobs.. I realli am undecided till of now whether to "reject" this job as im realli keen to experience an overseas audit.. But based on advice so far, it is to reject this job..

So i guess i will spend tis few daes deliberating whether or not to accept it... Hopefulli i will be able to coem to a correct decision soon...

N finalli it will be the second TGIF tml.. so for those counting down to 3 years, u are officialli left wif 160 TGIFs... hahahaha

Thank God its fridae

Din realli appreciate the significance of this phrase in the past when i was schooling as everydae was like a holidae to me and the only "busy" period i will have is the projects/tests/exams period.. But even then, projects was enjoyable and studying for tests/exams din realli seem that tedious and a torture..

But fast forward to my first week as a working adult and everything has just changed. Now, Im looking forward to lunches everyday and after lunch to 530pm.. Then, The BIG BREAK comes when we say TGIF as it signals the nearing of a weekend where it is ME time as zr says..

So todae is TGIF and im absolutely ecstatic about it.. Time for more fun and leisure finalli after a week of work..

Dinner at The Line

Gosh.. Finalli todae has arrived as i am looking forward to the dinner at The Line at Shangri La Hotel.. As requested by zr, the photos of the food will be posted... But not many photos too as i was too lazi to take them.. Here was how we looked when we started..

Overall, the food variety is impressive but the food is just passable.. Dunno y but perhaps it is becos i have set too high a benchmark for it... hahah.. Thursdae is the so called seafood nite but the seafood was rather standard with lobsters, mussels, clams, prawns and oysters.. Did grilling with the seafood..

For desserts, some are way too sweet and din realli liked it but sum was fabulous.. Such as the creme brulee, tiramisu, ice cream.. The durian cake was disappointing.. So stick to the usual place for yr fix of the durian..

Boston lobsters, lamb chop

Dim Sum

Rock salt salmon, chicken skewers, beef, oglio fried rice

The oglio fried rice was some thing special as the rice as chewy and fragrant.. Quite liked it as it is akin to the healthier choice for fried rice as it was less saltish and oily..

the one with in a cup with a yellowish surface is the creme brulee.. Must try!!!

If u are a fanatic over milk shakes.. This is a must try.. but note that it is not in the buffet menu.. N the cost is 15.90++ for this glass..

After the end of the whole dinner, i was so bloated that i could barely move.. Wee liang looks as if he is going to puke.. Hahaha.. So we strolled our way out from the hotel to the mrt staion to digest the dinner.. All in All, dinner at The Line is value for money as you are spolit for choice but be prepared that you will be so full that you cant walk out straight from the place... hahaha..

dae 2

If you think that ethics is easy and well drilled into our school curriculum, think twice man... Todae's lesson in the afternoon was spent entireli on ethics and ethics... It din help that the content was dry and soon the lunch effect kicked in...

Despit my promise to remain awake through the sessions, i guess this topic is my nemesis.. Couldnt sleep at all yesterdae and thus feeling v blue todae... Guessed im stressed at Dae 2 and im beginning to miss the fun and laughter as a student..

Hopefulli the weekend will come soon and it will be quality personal time to indulge in myself and my favourite activities...

First dae as a working Adult

woke up at 645 todae.. Its been ages since i woke up that earli. Even when i was in school/army, the earliest was still 7.15...

The training was boring and i nearli couldnt stay awake and finalli i gave in and had another cup of coffee after lunch... The whole dae was spent on learning about the company and the various admin issues.. N i received a rude shock when i saw my work schedule...

First job is a company that i will be stationed at for 5 months till mid may and the HQ is at..... PENANG!!!! So i guess i will be shuttling between SG and penang frequentli so much so that i will becum an expert of penang..

Then, the second company which i will be at occasionalli is located in SG fortunateli but at ulu ulu Tuas.. Gosh!!!! One good thing is that i will be able to take cab rides but that place is realli out of the way...

The third company is more decent and is located at raffles place itself.. But that means no cab rides and limited lunch choices...

Haix.. No one perfect company but i guess i should be contented as it will be a new experience auditing a brand new sector.. So here i go but after 2 weeks of training...

Final dae of freedom!

Its sundae le and tml i have to sae hello to a new phrase of my life as a working person.. It entails waking up at 645 daily and squeezing on the morning train to raffles place.. Fortunateli it will not be a perm basis as i will be out of office for most daes..

Had a gathering with my classmates on fridae at a ice cream shop at Holland V.. The ice cream was not fantastic and is rather pricey. Preferred the one at ion orchard which tasted much better and was less sweet..

N saturday was spent sleeping after a overnight mj session in school.. v shag i must sae but it was fun and enjoyable as there was a special guest appearance... Wat a way to commenerate my last mj session as a "student"..

Come tml, i will shed my status as a student and don long sleeves and pants for 5 daes every week..

5 more daes of freedom

Yes.. The day has finalli drawn near and in 5 daes time, i will lose my freedom and status as a free person.. As the dae approaches, i cant help but feel that this present job may not be my cup of tea... Thoughts such as why i did not sign on and go to nie for one more year or why i did not apply to do accounting at private firms began to resurface and i cant help but feel sad and depressed...

Come to think of it, there are still so many things that i have not done/haven been doing for quite some time such as prawning, KTV-ing and mixing out wif one of my pals from bridge as he has been busy..

Time is running out and i promise that this week will be a packed week of fun and excitment.. Even then, i guess it will not be enuff but i will look forward to next thursday for my opening qing gong yan buffet..

Grad Photos

I finalli received the graduation photos that i took with my best friends in university yesterdae from zr.. Although i looked unglam in those photos, but it was definiteli an enjoyable photo taking session given that i usualli dun like photo taking..

The photos will serve as a nice memory down the road many years later... As i looked at the photos, i cant help but feel sad as i realli miss the daes in school where we wreak havoc together.. Although projects are tiring, but i definitely enjoyed it as most of the time i did it wif my friends/ strangers who are fun loving and interesting..

Although i din manage to grab any photos of my hall, but hall life was definitely memorable both in hall 9 and 16... Cant forget the Hall 9FOC which was so fun and crazy and not to mention meeting my first gf there..

Also cant forget the ultimate incident that made mi move to 16... the toilet pipe bursting incident.. hahaha.. Although it din land on me per se, but the jokes that were made from it i can remember till todae..

No matter how much i miss school life and am reluctant to leave school, life has to proceed and i cant help but make myself wake up and face the new reality...

Counting down

After all the fun and craziness, its sad to say that life as a working adult is about to begin... To be honest, I am not really looking forward to start of work knowing that my lifestyle will be completely overturned with the hectic workload and crazy hours.. Realli missed the days of school life where there was so much fun even during projects and work...

Another holidae

Just back from langkawi and thus veri lazy to blog.. This trip has been meaningful to me in several ways... I have finalli decided let go of the past after much deliberation and move on ahead with life to pursue my own happiness.. Seeing people happi with their other halves and after all the sharing and talkiing sessions, i have decided not to be a sitting duck and to activeli pursue my dreams and happiness too hopefulli..

Through this leisure trip, i had many opportunities to slack and reflect on the things i have done so far and truely, i feel that although things may not alwaes go your way and some people are just passing figures in your life, one should always treasure what you have and be grateful..

Yesterday was one of the happiest days after my taiwan trip... Gathering with my best pals from university for prawning cum steamboat.. Din know that prawning is sooo fun and enjoyable and the cookies that xy brought was superb.. Or was it the company that made the prawning enjoyable.. Dunch know but one thing is for sure.. that i was totalli myself with no PC smiles and answers.. Glad that zr-san made it to prawning too...

Day 5

After Gu gong, i feel inspired to do more sight seeing... decided to go Yang Ming Shan ato see the scenary.. U may think Jason dont link with scenary/walking/hiking.. But Yeah, i did suggest to do there ok.. so give mi sum credit..

Yang Ming Shan is definitely a place that is 100% or no 200% worth it to go... Scenary is breath taking, waterfall is nice and i get to see a volcanic vent..

First stop, we went to Zhu Zi Hu.. The scenary here is nice and u get to see the flowers.. Can also try plucking lilies if u want for NT$10 each..

After touring zhu zi hu, we realised that the shuttle bus to get to xiao you keng is not at the place where we alighted.. Took a walk of around 20 minutes and after much help from the locals, we managed to find the shuttle to Xiao you Keng.. This place has nothing much except for the volcanic vents which is spouting sulphur gas and we ate a special kind of ice cream...

my shopping list

At the moment, mi luggage stands at 40kg.. DUnno how im gg to clear the excess kgs but heres a list of what i have bought so far.

Item 1: accessories comprising of bracelet, ring and necklace

Item 2: 3/4 pants
Item 3: Food.. 8 packets of butter biscuits, yam pastry, jelly, pineapple tarts, black sesame biscuits
Item 4: 3 polo tee, 1 long sleeve shirt, 1 tee shirt, 1 bag,
Lastly, another 3/4 pants

thats the total damage so far in taipei.. hshahaha...

Day 4- Cultural Walk

Todae is a day where i began my cultural conquest of TAiwan.. Went to National Palace Museum ( Gu Gong).. Although i am not a person whu appreciates antiques, but feel that since that place is a "must go" attraction, i decided to drag mi feet there to take a look.. the trip is worth it as i sae the main treasure--the jade carved cabbage.. damn nice and unique...

No pictures as that place dun realli allow photo taking but gt pictures of the outside.. Enjoy..

After GU gong, i went to miramar shopping centre.. Nothing much there except for the ferris wheel.. Mus take a shuttle bus into the mall from the mrt station. So abit of tiok con feeling as the queue on the return leg was damn long.....

Day 3

Day 3 is a dae that i thought will be free from shopping.. Went sight seeing at various places.. Visited the lover's bridge and fisherman wharf with Mel before proceeding for a relaxing hot spring bath at beitou.. Also visited de re gu, which is a type of sulphur spring.. Bathing in a hotspring is a totalli new experience i must sae as i have never experienced it before.. soaked for a total of 2 hours and i called it quits..

di re gu

Mel is crappy as usual and he has been consistentli "showing off" his knowledge of songs in taiwan.. Here is a list of songs that he linked to things in taiwan:

At zhong xiao east road, he goes zhong xiao dong lu zou jiu bian....

At fisherman wharf, cos its near the sea, its time for ah mei's Ting hai

At the national Palace Museum where he saw a picture of Cao cao.. Guess wat song..

toilet sign.. v cute rite?
Yu Ren Ma Tou Square
lover's bridge.. y am i doing here without mi bf/gf..
Bei Tou Fish Market

Proceeded to Dan shui lao jie where i ate food like BBQ squid etc..

Fried Mushrooms
Nuo Mi Chang (Glutinous Rice Sausage)
BBQed Smelly Tofu
Grilled Squid
Tang Hu Lu (Glazed Strawberries and Cherry Tomatoes)

Shilin night market then and i was in for more surprises.. the food there is just average considering what we have eaten so far.. so the food is disappointing... Here's a list of the food we ate:

(1)Smelly toufu

(2) He ar jian oyster omelette

(3) Guan cai Ban

(4) mian bao chuan

(5) cong you bing

(6) ma la ya xue (duck blood)

(7) hua zi geng

(8) da chang bao xiao chang- dunno y but buy it twice never managed to finish it

(9) Bo Ba nai Cha

But what is interesting is not the food but the thing that i am about to see at one of the game stalls.. Guess the game??

Yes!!! its mj but a different version.. totally amazed by the game that i spent an hour playing at the stll.. we are supposed to draw 15 tiles and match the tiles to the picture. If a straight line is formed, its a "hu". Won a total of 10 packets of drinks and gt 5 times “hu”.. Spet a total on NT 400 on this interesting game.. Here’s the picture

After the game, we proceeded for some minor shopping and I came across a polo tee with jasmine green stripes.. Caught my eye and befoe I know it, it belongs to me le… Then I continued walking along the street and passed by a accessory shop.. Accessory time again and this time it is for a ring and a bracelet.. Another Nt$1300 poorer.. Hahaha..

After this, time is around 1130pm le and we rushed to catch the train back to the hotel.. As I travelled, I begin to fear hoe I am going to bring all these stuff to kaoshiung and then back to SG. Tink its time for more luggage and im prepared to bust the 30kg limit. Muahahahaha..

Day 2

Ring!!!! 830Am and that is the sign to wake up. Went for breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which served typical breakfast stuff like omelette, bee hoon, coffee, yakult, bao, siew mai etc… After breakfast, it was time to proceed for the activity for the day, which is mainly shopping at Ximending and wufenpu.. With the aid of my fren’s navigational skills, we managed to find the way to Ximending. Initially thought that Ximen station is Ximending.. But ho ho. It’s a different thing altogether..

Ximending is a “street” which is really like Bugis Street in Singapore. But definitely, the variety, quality and price is much better than in Singapore, as I dun fancy bugis street at all. The first shop, SOAR, is a local brand that is created by the owners. One step into the shop and im about $60 bucks poorer as I bought 2 tees and 1 long sleeve shirt.

Then I headed to Wufenpu. Nothing much there as it is like Chatchuchak market in Bangkok., very wholesale in nature, the more u buy the cheaper it becomes.. OMG. Bargaining skills put to the test..

After all the shopping and feeling broke as I have spent all the currency on shopping, we headed back to the hotel to offload the stuff and take currency.. Then we are off to the next stop.. Taipei 101, eslite bookshop and “Xing Guang San Yue” for more shopping… Managed to find a book from eslite which is no longer in SG and at Half the price… A bargain..Then I headed off to Taipei 101 to go to the observatory.. Tixs cost NT$350.. But it is really worth it as the sight is reallli amazing. Obervatory= no shopping?? Nopex.. So wat did I grab???

Taiwan produce like the Jelly with green plum, butter cookies, pineapple tarts (which has various flavors like blueberry, charcoal, sesame etc), almond cookie as well as taro puffs.. Busted a total of NT$1760!! Amazing rite but not all for me as I bought the butter cookies, which apparently is only sold at that Taipei 101 for some of mi friends.Armed with all these cookies, I am now having a big headache as to how I can transport all these stuff back to SG..
